New Immigration Opportunities for Graduates through Ontario:

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program welcomes applications from both undergraduate and graduate students. If you have completed a bachelor’s degree or a two-year diploma and secure a permanent full-time job offer from an Ontario employer, you are eligible to apply for permanent residence through the OINP. Additionally, graduates of one-year post-graduate certificate programs with a job offer may qualify for the program. Master’s or PhD program graduates can also apply for the OINP without requiring a job offer.

Express Entry

The Express Entry system manages permanent residence applications for three federal economic immigration programs: the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program. The first two programs are relevant to international students.

Canadian Experience Class

The Canadian Experience Class caters to applicants with at least one year of Canadian work experience in a skilled, professional, or technical field. International students intending to apply for permanent residence under this category should commence their application preparations three years prior to the submission date. There exists a specific list of job categories eligible for inclusion in this program.

Federal Skilled Worker Program

The Federal Skilled Worker Program targets skilled professionals possessing qualifications and work experience in managerial roles, professions, technical positions, and skilled trades. Unlike the Canadian Experience Class, work experience under this program need not be acquired in Canada. Applicants are evaluated based on six criteria:

  1. Proficiency in English or French
  2. Educational background
  3. Work experience
  4. Age
  5. Job offer (if applicable)
  6. Adaptability, including studying experience in Canada
